All of our yarn begins with newly sheared fleeces from our sheep that have been growing for about six months.

 

 Jean produces machine spun yarn, hand spun yarn and painted yarn. 

 

Machine spun yarn starts with our raw wool shipped to McAuslands on Prince Edward Island Canada. It returns as finished yarn in a variety of colors.

 

Handspun yarn starts with raw wool from our sheep. It is washed, hand carded, spun on a period reproduction wheel and hand dyed in Jeans's workshop using xxx dyes.

Hand painted yarn starts with raw wool from our sheep.  It is washed and sent to a local mini mill in Frederick Maryland and comes back to us undyed.  Jean then hand paints the wool using xxx dyes.
